For while he is not yet ready for a comb-over, he can at times look as wild and woolly as a fund manager over-exposed in the wrong sector.

As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, Archie detects a whiff of autumn in the air, and is looking forward to the coming winter evenings when he can enjoy the comfort of a homely blaze in HIS fireplace in the background.

Archie, as always, is full of joy as we return from the festive season break and look ahead to what 2015 has to offer.  And why shouldn’t we share his love of life? Sure, they will be the usual challenges and perhaps some new ones in the year ahead.  The investing climate will remain tough, Eskom promises to spoil many a party, and we hold our breath ahead of what the taxman has in store for us in this year’s Budget.  But at least we start on a good note with fuel prices plummeting which will hopefully lead to a slight decrease in inflation.  For sports lovers it will be a landmark year, with our national rugby, cricket and soccer teams all taking part in global competitions which will keep many glued to their TV sets.
